HEAD COACH
COACH PETER LAU | ![]() |
Head Coach for Tri-Amateur Triathlon Club, Peter Lau holds a valid ITU level 2 coaching certification since 2007 for competitive and high performance athletes; an ITU level 2 ITO (International Technical Official); officiated a couple of grand final races and currently hold the coaching chair in ASTC (Asian Triathlon confederation) coaching committee.
Peter is a finisher in a few full distance Ironman races within the region; currently retired from competitive races and focus on coaching up and coming tri-athletes.

Formerly Negeri Sembilan State Swimmer, Coach Andy competed in his very first triathlon race in 1995. He holds ITU Level 1 Technical Official and has also assisted the Team Coach for the Asian Beach Games Phuket in 2014
Currently an active cyclist and swimmer, Andy is a volunteer coach with Tri-Amateur Triathlon Club.

Reita has been an active triathlon and duathlon participant since 1999. Formerly trained under Head Coach Peter Lau, Reita has competed in many Olympic Distance, Half Ironman and Ironman Distance races where there were many glories and some misses.
Started with running and progress to triathlon, Reita is also active in adventure races, long distance kayak events and have also participated in an ultramarathon of 68km at the Route68.
Reita is currently a volunteer coach with Tri-Amateur Triathlon Club.

A 5-time finisher of the Kapas – Marang 6.5km Swimathon and 1-time Langkawi Ironman, Lester has since retired from the triathlon scene and is currently a volunteer coach with Tri-Amateur Triathlon Club.

COACH MUTHIAH SIVALINGAM |

Coach Muthiah is a National Coach at the National Sports Council (NSC) for the long and middle distance runners and has broken the national record in Germany in 1986 where he clocked 3:45.99 and erased the old record of 3:48.00 set in 1968. He has won many gold medals back in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1989, he won the 1,500m gold medal for the third consecutive SEA Games.
Coach Muthiah believe that there is no short cut to success and that it is important to be dedicated, committed and hard working to succeed as an athlete.
He holds an International Athletes Association Federation (IAAF) Level Two Diploma coaching certificate and is currently a running coach with Tri-Amateur Triathlon Club
